Accreditation and Affiliations

Taipei European School (TES) is fully accredited by two of the world's leading accreditation bodies: the Council of International Schools (CIS), based in Europe, and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), based in the USA. This joint accreditation is evidence of our commitment to academic excellence.

TES is authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation to deliver the IB Diploma Programme and is classed as an IB World School.

The “German School Taipei” (“Deutsche Schule Taipei”) is a German School Abroad within the DAS network (“Deutsche Auslandsschulen”/“German Schools Abroad”) and is subsidised by the Federal Republic of Germany. It is also a German Overseas School that is recognised by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the German Länder (Federal States).

The French Section is a member of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), a network overseen by the French Ministry of Education.

The AEFE network connects close to 500 French schools outside of France, in 137 countries, all offering teaching in accordance with the French Ministry of Education curricula. These accredited institutions promote universal values — tolerance, humanism, equality, curiosity, developing critical minds — and allow students to have a seamless education, from infant school to the French Baccalauréat. They offer a particularly rich education as a result of belonging to a dynamic international network.

In the French Section, all primary and secondary classes have been accredited by the French Ministry of Education, which attests to their conformity to the curricula, pedagogical objectives and to the fundamental principles of public education in France. Expatriation can often mean changing schools, in the four corners of the world, and also returning to France. The accreditation tools are a guarantee of the continuity of teaching between AEFE institutions. 

TES is a member of FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia). FOBISIA is a membership association founded in 1988. FOBISIA aims to promote a British style education system in schools throughout Asia and gives students the opportunity for collaboration and friendly competition through its annual sporting, musical and other events.

Today FOBISIA has 52 member schools from all of the major Asian countries. All FOBISIA schools must hold at least one of the accreditations above and schools can only join the Federation by way of a vote from a member school at the Regional Heads Conference. TES was one of the very first FOBISIA schools.

We are also a recognised Cambridge International Examinations Centre (CIE).
