Chinese Foreign Language
The Chinese Foreign Language course of study (CFL) targets students with a limited Chinese learning background, who are pursuing Chinese as a tool for communication. All students, across all sections, study Chinese in mixed classes based on their level of proficiency.

Goal of CFL
Students should be able to express themselves effectively and purposefully in various Chinese-speaking contexts. Students are able to have a sound knowledge and understanding about Chinese culture.
Primary CFL
Students in the Primary School are developing a broad and general knowledge and understanding about the Chinese language topics associated with their daily life at school and in the wider community.
Five topic areas: Everyday Activities, Personal and Social Life, The World around us, The World of Work, and The International World, which are closely aligned with the curriculum topics in Secondary School to ensure smooth transition.
Secondary CFL
The examination topics of IGCSE Chinese Foreign Language course are employed and allocated into three years’ study in Secondary School to equip students with a solid language foundation to continue their pursuit of Chinese at high school.
