We are very proud to share with you the fantastic achievements of our Scholar’s Cup Team that took part in the national Taiwan round in Kaohsiung, held on 24th and 25th March. The team was made up of twelve children from both the British and French Primary Sections, in Year 5 & Year 6/CEM2.

Scholar’s Cup features four exciting events: Team Debate; Scholar’s Bowl; Collaborative Writing and the Scholar’s Challenge. Each year is centered around a theme. This year’s theme is Reconstructing The Past. This got children thinking about these questions: What do you think the world was like a hundred years ago? How about the exact place where you're sitting or standing or lying down right now? Six subject areas were used as vehicles to probe this theme: Science & Technology, Special Area, Social Studies, History, and Art & Music. As a build-up to this event, children studied and applied their minds to these areas and developed their debate skills.

Our Team performed very well indeed. They were the youngest team in the Junior Division, often competing with children as old as twelve and thirteen years old. We walked away with 31 Silver medals, 18 Gold medals, and a trophy - how exciting! In addition, all children have qualified for the Global round.

So, a huge congratulations to these children: Emily (Year 6), Jing (Year 5), Audrey (Year 6), Sophia (Year 6), Wendell (Year 6), Lee-Anne (Year 6), Morgan (Year 5), Loup (French Section), Teddy (French Section), Angelin (Year 5), Dudley (Year 6), Aariana (Year 5)
