The IB Visual Art exhibition is one of the highlights of the Art Department calendar and this year was no exception.

The exhibition forms the predominant part of the assessment for the IB Visual Arts course and is the culmination of two years of hard work. In H3, students try out many different techniques and media in order to find their particular strength and passion. H4 then becomes about honing that passion and becoming competent in one particular art-making form.

As is the nature of artists, the diversity across many different types of media and personalities is always astonishing. This year we had digital painting, installations, embroidery, pot plants as well as some paintings and sculpture.  Making art is always an emotional journey as well as a learning experience. It is always such a pleasure to see the realisation of every student’s growth in confidence, technique, understanding, and self-pride.

We would like to congratulate all of the students on their outstanding work and acknowledge Joanna Long who was their H3 teacher.
