Each year, BSHS students enter the Taipei City Art Competition within the categories of painting, Chinese calligraphy, design, comics, ink painting, and print-making. Not only is this an exciting competition in itself, but it is the first step towards entry into the very prestigious National Art Competition.
We are very excited that this year we have a record number of students who have placed and will now compete in the National Art Competition.
Congratulations to the following students:
Jeannie Yu: Ink Painting, First Place
Coco Yeh: Ink Painting, Second Place
Annabelle Huang: Ink Painting, Third Place
Natalie Wu: Chinese Calligraphy, Second Place
Audrey Wu: Chinese Calligraphy, Shortlisted
Olivia Chen: Painting, Second Place
Ashley Yu: Painting, Third Place
Jeremy Lu: Comic, First Place
BSHS students enjoy a high-quality Visual Arts education from Key Stage 3, and it is an IGCSE and IBDP option for High School students. There are also many opportunities for students to develop their skills and passion for Art outside the timetabled curriculum. For example, H4 student Jeremy does not study Visual Arts as part of his IB course but has spent hours of his spare time devoted to his passion for drawing. This is an excellent demonstration of our school values of Participation, Creativity, and Perseverance.
