Air Pollution Procedures

Action Level Air pollution index:

Level 1 AQI 101-150 (Orange)
  • Short outside activities such as recess, PE, outdoor ECAs can continue.
  • Longer activities such as athletic/sport practice should take more breaks and do less intense physical activities.
  • Staff will be informed of levels exceeding 100AQI, so that they can be aware of sensitive students, excusing/reducing participation in outside activity as necessary.
  • Staff is vigilant of children with asthma or other breathing issues.
Level 2 AQI 151-200 (Red)
  • Cancel outside play / PE / ECAs.
  • Field Trips are cancelled. (but not recalled if already out )
  • Staff is vigilant of children with asthma or other breathing issues.
  • Parents of children of high risk groups can choose not to send their children to school; it will be sick leave absence.
