Culture and Community
Our international community is truly diverse with over 50 nationalities represented. While our school culture reflects the influences of our European heritages, British, French and German, we recognise all cultures. We have strong connections to the context of our host country, Taiwan, and take every opportunity to draw upon the host country in our educational programmes.
A Diverse Community
As the only school in Taiwan offering a British, French and German national curriculum option - we are the natural choice for a more diverse background of parents and students. With over 55 nations represented at the school, there is a very international feel with multicultural understanding cultivated through many cross section activities and events!
Embracing our Chinese Environment
Taiwan is a wonderful host country and families that come here are usually reluctant to leave. Many set up home here permanently! Consequently, whilst TES does have an international school feeling, the feeling of belonging and of community are very strong and families that do eventually move on often come back to visit the school and Taiwan. Given this remarkable setting we also reflect the great traditions of Chinese culture and language learning as part of our daily curricula.
An International Future Awaits
Our growing reputation and image in Taiwan and across Asia has seen demand for places reach record levels, particularly in our High School. We are hugely proud of the fact that our graduating students consistently win places at universities that are among the best across the world.
Our High School allows all three sections to merge together and for the first two years students undertake the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) or French and German co-qualifications. The final two years of High School culminate in the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) or the French Baccalaureate
A Village Feeling
There is an African saying, from multiple cultures, that roughly translates as 'It takes a village to raise a child'. We embody this in our school where we expect all of our community to work together to develop children. We can all (parents, teachers and other students) add to the experience and learning path of each child. That partnership is expected from all of our community and it is with this understanding that we welcome families and staff into our community.
