Teacher Recruitment Qualifications

Taipei European School recruits well qualified, experienced career professionals.

British Section Teachers Need to Meet Any One of the Following Criteria: 

  • A Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognised university
  • A Degree from a recognised university plus either a
    • Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE/PGCEi)
    • Post Graduate Diploma of Education (PGDE)
    • A teaching certificate from a state or territory's recognised authorising body.
  • Relevant National Curriculum, IGCE, GCSE and IB experience

German Section Teachers Need Two of the Following Criteria:

  • Teacher in Primary and Secondary School: 
    • Erstes Staatsexamen für das Lehramt (First State Examination for Teachers)
    • Zweites Staatsexamen für das Lehramt (Second State Examination for Teachers)
  • Teacher in Kindergarten (Erzieherin/Erzieher):
    • Abgeschlossene Fachschul- oder Fachhochschulausbildung
    • Staatliche Anerkennung
  • Teacher for German Language Support (DaZ)
    • Relevante DaZ- oder DaF-Qualifikation (z. B. Goethe-Zertifikat)

French Section Teachers Need to Meet Any One of the Following Criteria: 

  • A recognised teaching qualification (Agrégation,CAPES, CAPE, PLP2, PGCE, PGCI)
  • A relevant degree from a recognised university and proven experience as a qualified teacher in the French National Educational System or ability to be employed in the French National System.

Chinese Language and Culture Teachers Need to Meet Two of the Following Criteria:

  • A degree from a recognised university
  • One of the following
    • Qualified Teacher Status for Local Taiwanese Schools
    • Master of Education Degree from a recognised university
    • Master of Arts / Other with a major in Education or Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language
