Designed Transition Programmes
On joining our school new students and families are supported in their transition period in order that they settle and flourish with ease.
In addition we have a carefully designed programme which builds up to a key transition assembly towards the end of the academic year. This focuses on more than just Year 6 moving into Secondary school; we look to include all children successfully transitioning into their new Year groups.
Key aspects to this approach include opportunities to meet some of the new teachers, to see some of the classrooms, experience some of the new play areas and take part in transitional projects across the years.
Transition to Secondary School
This move from Primary to our Secondary campus is an important transition. Preparations are staged over a number of months, including a series of full day sessions, with the Year 6 and Year 7 teachers working together to ensure a smooth pastoral and academic transition for students. Parents are included as part of the transition process through key events such as guided campus visits and curriculum information sessions.
