Every year, the French Section offers its students the opportunity to take part in large number of ambitious and exciting educational projects.
Special Projects
Radio Bulle
Radio Bulle is the web radio station for the French speaking students of TES. It aims to provide our students with a creative space to express themselves freely. It is also a place for learning about media, technology and communication techniques specifically related to working with sound, and it helps our students to develop their command of the French language. Radio Bulle shares and connects French and Taiwanese culture in its programmes and reporting.
The teams meet regularly in order to build varied and original content together. The station also broadcasts radio work carried out in the classes. The weekly workshops provide an opportunity for students to meet audio professionals and French-speaking actors as well as well-known people in the arts, culture and sciences.

STEAM Week
Each autumn, the French Section holds its annual STEAM Week for its junior classes. This event, now in its fourth year, gives the students the opportunity to create some projects that follow the core components of STEAM: science, technology, engineering, art and maths.
In conjunction with the locally-based Skyrock Projects, some fun, creative and impactful projects are designed in accordance with the French curriculum to give our students a chance to engage their learning with some cutting edge technology and equipment. The students learn a lot from this condensed period of creative STEAM-based learning, and it ends up being one of their highlights when they reflect on it at the end of the year.
Coding Night
Every spring, the French Section organises the "Nuit du c0de", a computer programming competition in which all French schools in the world are invited to participate. In May 2021, around 1300 students from more than thirty schools in Asia, America, Africa, the Middle East and Europe will take part in the event, which is both fun and demanding. Collaboration, algorithmic skills, creativity and good humour are the keywords of this competition.
Week of Taste
A national initiative in France, but also an international one in the network of French schools abroad, the "Week of Taste" raises children's awareness of France's cultural and gastronomic treasures. Awareness of the senses, preventive actions on the importance of a balanced diet, cooking classes, chef workshops and restaurant and professional kitchen visits are just some of a wide range of activities put on to engage pupils in meaningful learning.
