The German School Taipei School Association is represented by the Vorstand. It consists of six members who manage the activities of the association and continuously develop our section together with the Section Head.
The school association elects a six-member board from among its members at the annual general meeting. The term of office of each board member is two years. The work on the board is voluntary. It is supported in an advisory capacity by the representative of the German Institute and the school management. The statutes (approved by the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany) and the rules of procedure based on them regulate the details of the Board's work. The Board elects a Chairperson from among its members. The areas of responsibility of the Board members are determined in a meeting at the beginning of the school year. The Board may appoint extended committees for special tasks.
Meetings of the School Association Board shall be held monthly.
In principle, the Board arranges the affairs of the Association. These include
- Appointing and dismissing the Headmaster (in close consultation with the Foreign Office) and the teachers and staff of the German School,
- Deliberating and passing resolutions on the budget estimate for the new financial year,
- Providing the school with the necessary funds monitoring and adherence to the budget, and much more.
The exact definition of the Board's activities can be found in the Statutes under §15 to §18.
The Board is always available for the members. For this reason, the board offers a monthly one-hour office hour before the respective meetings and can also be contacted by email. The board members consider the exchange with the parents as an essential element of the board's work.
