Our world class curricula are designed to provide outstanding learning experiences that spark curiosity, foster independence and inspire our young people to make a positive difference in the world. In all subject areas, teachers in the High School Section seek to develop each student as a unique individual. All of our students are supported to become independent, principled and mindful members of the global community.

World Class Curricula

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP)

We are proud to be an IB World School and to offer all of our students the opportunity to engage in one of the world’s most innovative educational courses for 16-18 year olds: the two-year IB Diploma Programme. The Diploma is focused on personal, professional and academic development, and is globally recognised for the holistic and rigorous education it provides. The in-depth study of subjects in the final two years of High School requires commitment, organisation and initiative. Find out more about the different subjects in our IB Curriculum Overview Booklet.

The IB Diploma Programme emphasises high academic standards in mandatory areas of literature, a second language, mathematics, humanities and science. Academic excellence is coupled with an emphasis on personal development in areas such as research, the theory of knowledge, and social awareness.

When students graduate from the British Secondary and High School, they are very well prepared for the next step in their academic career, attending some of the best universities around the globe.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Careers Path (CP)

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Career-related Programme (CP) is a framework of international education that incorporates the vision and educational principles of the IB into a unique programme specifically developed for students who wish to engage in careerrelated learning. CP students engage with a rigorous study programme that genuinely interests them while gaining transferable and lifelong skills. The CP provides a comprehensive educational framework that combines highly regarded and internationally recognized courses, from the IB Diploma Programme (DP), with a unique CP core and an approved career-related study.

CP Diploma students take up to four IB subjects, of which any subjects can be either studied in depth at Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL).

CP Students also choose a pathway among our external providers. There are a multitude of possible pathways including Art and design, Sports management, Hospitality, Sustainability management, Digital design and Aeronautical engineering. In addition, the programme has several compulsory course requirements, known as the CP Core, that are included to broaden the educational experience and challenge students to apply their knowledge and understanding. The CP Core requires students to complete a personal and professional skills course, write a 3,000 word reflective project (RP), a course in a second language development of their choice and participate in a number of Service Learning projects.
